It is a powerful experience, designed to help students reach deeper states of awareness and calm via the healing vibrational effects of sound. *This is a “donations based” class, meaning memberships and packages will not be applied. Don’t miss this amazing experience! Wednesday, June 1st: Yoga & Essential Oils with Mariah Frye Colie and Nicole Mygrants
6:00pm – 7:30pm at The Gift in Grayling*

Explore the ancient practice of essential oil therapy while practicing yoga! In this special workshop, we will delve into our profoundly powerful sense of scent, and use it to tap into a deep level of balance and well-being during our yoga practice. In this workshop, Mariah guides students through a Hatha II yoga class, which is specifically designed to coincide with the oils. These top-grade essential oils, including Grapefruit, Bergamot, and more, are applied aromatically, internally, and topically throughout class by essential oil specialist, Nicole Mygrants. The combination of yoga and essential oils is a fun, interesting, and powerful practice, and is open to everyone! Space is limited, so pre-registration is highly encouraged. The cost is $15 in advance, or $20 at the door. Click here to pre-register!

*This workshop takes place at The Gift in Grayling, which is located at 4304 W M-72, in the old day care building about 1 mile east of downtown (towards Mio).

We look forward to seeing you at these awesome workshops!

Join us for a Guest Teacher this Thursday!

We are so excited for Dawn Brockett to share her teaching with us this Thursday!

Mariah and Dawn became fast friends last fall, when she was visiting the Higgins Lake area from her home in Idaho. She has graciously agreed to share her extensive background in yoga teaching with the STY community while she’s in town this spring!

Dawn’s bio:

Dawn is a 21-year practitioner of yoga and has been teaching for 16 years. She earned her 500-hour registered yoga certification in 2006 and continues to develop her knowledge in the field. Though trained in multiple styles of yoga, Anusara alignment-based is her strongest influence. Her extensive fitness training background also informs her instruction on the mat.

Dawn prefers to focus on the individual physical and psychological benefits gained from a regular practice, but if you want to get down and dirty in yoga philosophy, she did do her Honors undergraduate thesis on the shared origins of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and Aristotle’s Nicomachean Ethics. When not on her mat, you can find Dawn on the trails hiking, biking, snowshoeing and nordic skiing.

Dawn Brockett has been teaching yoga for 16 years!

Join Dawn this week at our normal weekly class, Hatha II, on Thursday, May 5th at 5:30pm in Higgins Lake!

Preregister by clicking here, or just show up a few minutes early. See you there!
